Beliefs and Reality

And now on how beliefs attract reality. This is no contradiction to the former chapters, but simply a another way of looking at things. You may choose from which viewpoint (identity, attention, emotion or belief creates reality) you wish to approach reality creation or you may combine all methods. Beliefs are superior to emotions in that they determine what something feels like. In this sense they “cause” emotions. Belief also determines where your attention goes and does not go. But you can also view it the other way around: Attention and Emotion cause or create a belief, for the more attention and feeling you give a thoughtform, the more it becomes a belief. It’s a two way street. This is not meant to confuse you. How all elements relate and how they apply to parallel universe surfing will become clear to you.

What is a “belief” anyway? It is a thought you keep thinking, whether you are fully aware of it or not. Many teachers talk about “subconscious” or “unwitting” beliefs being the most powerful because you are not aware of them. But it is not really that you are totally “unaware” of them, but that you hold them to be so true that you do not view them as beliefs. In this sense there really is no such thing as “unconscious” or “sub-level-awareness” or “unwitting” beliefs, but only things that appear so “real” to you it never occurs to you that it’s only a belief, only one way of seeing reality. Imagine beliefs like sunglasses you are wearing. You most often do not look at the glasses themselves, but are looking through the glasses at the world. While the sunglasses may be apparent for outside viewers, they are only subtly or half-apparent to you. You say “this is what reality looks like”, “this is what is real” without noticing that it only looks like that through the sunglasses you are wearing. However, there’s more to beliefs than that: You are wearing magnetic sunglasses which attract the events matching the belief. A belief is really nothing more than a thought. You think a thought. And when you think it more often, this thought accumulates other thoughts that are on a similar vibratory level. When a thought grows big enough we could call it a belief. When a thought starts running on automatic and is pushed out of conscious awareness we can call it a subconscious belief. A core belief is a fundamental definition, a presupposition of what something is, or what reality is, something you term “knowledge” or “truth”, something you are so convinced about you don’t even question it. A belief is basically any thought, statement (which is a verbalized belief), mental image, or any definition of what is and what is not. In that sense anything you think and say is a belief and based on other beliefs. A core belief is something many beliefs are based on. RC always involves recognizing what we thought of as “fact” as merely a belief we are projecting and shifting that to a preferred belief.
